Rhyme as reason

Similar sounds, sights, etc. are encoded more readily; when using words, a rhyme is better remembered and may be seen as more persuasive (this is why commercial forms of communication often use them, e.g., "naughty but nice" – in the court case of O J Simpson, "If the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit" is thought by some to have been decisive in the Not Guilty verdict).​
